CED is implementing an international project on the theory and practice of European Work Councils in Central and eastern Europe

The Center for Economic Development is implementing another international project in the area of industrial relations. The project is focused on European Work Councils (EWC) as a means for representing the employees’ interests in the framework of multinational companies in the European Union. The project has been initiated by the Institute for Public Policy – Romania and is being implemented together with think tanks from Poland, Republic of North Macedonia and Croatia. It is funded by the European Commission.

The main objective of the project is to raise awareness about the mechanism of EWC and present best practices from Germany.

All participating countries are carrying out qualitative sociological surveys – focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. Based on the National Assessment Reports the Project Coordinator will elaborate a Comparative Executive Summary

The project includes also the elaboration and publication of an EWC Employee Guide to be presented and used during training sessions with the participation of social partners.
